Findhair

Links/Back

Findhair, the second youngest of the Fairies, chose the quiet land to the south of the Twelve Kingdoms, by the banks of the Suirebaire and the Sorrowing rivers. There he and his people till the land and fish the Emerald Sea, concerned with practicality and not with the battles of the north or the secrets of Dalfinn and Goewinn or Sirena.

Just within the double Garrisons of Findhair's section of the Dark Wood, however, is a cairn made by the pagan men before the Wolf King was defeated. There they await the day when they will be made worthy to climb the Mountains of Morning and truly take their rest.

The men of Findhair are not overly concerned with titles as much as with good crops and good fishing, but a several families bears mentioning. The Lords of Seward, who now serve as Findhair's Stewards, are an ancient line, reaching back to the time of the Titans. Also of ancient lineage are the Lords of Mathuin, who once lived within the Dark Wood itself until the defeat of the Wolf King, and who now reside south of the Shrouded Lake. Of more humble origin is Liam mac Hwyach, whose family's homestead lies along the Sorrowing River across the Wastes of Day.
