A long-time friend of the Vertae, earth elementals, Cadwyr's court is found beneath the spreading boughs of the Evertree, grown from the seeds of the Vertae's own shifting court. Guarded by the Wandering River, the Camboglais, on the east, Cadwyr meets the lands of Aldhairen and Islendil at the Green Lake, or Loch Orawn, where the Vertae court is most frequently found. To the south east, Cadwyr touches the Dark Wood, and to the east are the Green Mountains, where the Wolf King keeps his den. North east lies Urdur's land, separated by the Orawnafon, a range of hills like waves carved in land.

The men who live in Cadwyr are a quiet lot, well versed in wood-lore and the ways of animals, wild and domestic. They keep constant vigilance for the Wolf King, and never speak his name for fear of calling him to them.

The Mackelwy household hails from Cadwyr, of whom Lord Hugh Mackelwy, the Knight of Squire Ewan, is one. Their line reaches back even to the days of Deirdre, and they have long been allies of Siawn Shieldbearer.

The Stewards of Cadwyr are the from the line of Brien, and the Lords of that line have all borne that name. The Lady Findola is from this line.
